Better Diabetes Services for people living in Mid Essex

 

NHS North Essex is seeking people’s views on how best to integrate and join up diabetes services in mid and north east Essex.

 

We'd appreciate your views and ideas about how services could be better linked up. We have prepared a discussion document to help explain our plans and to let you know how you can get involved.

 

As part of the engagement we have planned a series of discussion workshops where we will invite your comments and suggestions. We will use feedback from these sessions and from the Diabetes Services survey to help shape diabetes services in the future.

Improving Maternity Services for people in Colchester, Tendring, Halstead and the Colne Valley

 

NHS North Essex and Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust are seeking views from people in north Essex on how to shape maternity services in the future.

New Local Arrangements in Shadow Form from April 2012

 

We are currently launching the next phase of transition towards a reformed NHS in north Essex.


The new arrangements are well on course to be in shadow form from 1 April this year. This will be a big step towards full establishment from 1 April 2013, subject to parliamentary approval of the Health and Social Care Bill.

Transition 2011 in north Essex

We have been consulting with staff on proposed new structures for NHS North Essex.  We are reorganising in order to succeed in the transition to new commissioning arrangements as proposed in the NHS reforms, which (subject to parliamentary approval) will take effect from 2013.

You will see within it a summary of the decisions about the structures of NHS North Essex and how these have been influenced by the feedback from consultation. The document is written primarily for staff and contains links to the staff Intranet.

Transition 2011 in north Essex

Thank you very much indeed to everyone who has responded to the proposals for consultation.

It is a fantastic response.  There are many helpful ideas and offers that will influence the way we proceed.  We are still ploughing through the feedback and each individial Director is reading through all of the original responses that relate to their proposed structures.

Directors will be completing their revised structures in the light of feedback.  The Executive team will discuss the structures and HR framework along with another look at our estimated running costs.  As we expected, there is new and further information to come from the Department of Health, and we will need to consider this as well as part of our preparation for publishing the outcome of our consultation.

Maternity services in Braintree

Your local NHS is improving maternity services in Braintree by:

  • continuing to adopt national best practice
  • offering better choices of maternity care services for local mums-to-be
  • creating new accommodation in Braintree that will replace the unit provided currently at the William Julien Courtauld Hospital.

Better health for people with learning disabilities

NHS East of England has launched a formal consultation on the proposed Vision for Better Health and Well-being for People with a Learning Disability and their Families. The consultation runs from 12 October 2010 to 11 January 2011 and there is a regional public event 'Bigger Health Day' being held on Monday 15 November 2010. Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment: draft for consultation

Primary Care Trusts are required to publish a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) and use it as the basis for commissioning pharmaceutical services and determining applications from pharmacy contractors and dispensing doctors wishing to provide pharmaceutical services in the area.  The deadline for giving your views on the draft document was 29 November 2010. We are now compiling the final report which will be published on this website on 1st February 2011. Thank you to those who participated by giving their feedback.
